By June of 2009 the Gov't
will be shutting down all local "analog" channels. All local
channels will be broadcasting in HD (Which most are now) By
purchasing a Converter Box you will be able to receive the
HD signals from your analog TV. Converter boxes are eligible

Are there any
differences in converter boxes?

Yes, some
converter boxes have what you call "analog
pass-through." Which allows you to still receive
analog broadcasts for the time being. By 2009 this
feature will no longer be needed. RadioShack also
carries the highest rated converter boxes by
customers.
